As you all know Dh and I are trying to be more ecofriendly as well as be more money conscious. We're newlyweds and money does not grow on trees, unfortunately. I have quickly learned that you can save money by making simple changes to your lifestyle...it doesn't have to be anything huge.

We go through a lot of papertowels in our house. I would say we average about a roll every two weeks or so and that's just for the two of us. The cost of using papertowels adds up quick. Each roll is about two dollars (ack!) which may not seem like a lot, but over time that really ends up. Sponges are about a $1 a piece and don't get me started on washcloths- ridiculous! If only there was something that could take place of all of these things that is reusable....oh wait there is!

I received a package of Skoy Cloths to review I have to tell you I had my doubts about the skoy cloth before trying it out. I took one look at it when I got it and thought no way is this going to last with the scrubbing I do, BUT boy was I wrong. The day my skoy cloths arrived just happened to be fridge cleaning day- one of my least favorite chores. I thought this would be the perfect time to test out the Skoy Cloth. I dampened it with water and cleaner and went to work. To my surprise, the Skoy Cloth was great for cleaning my fridge. It didn't rip apart like I feared it would when I scrubbed with it. Paper towels barely last when wiping the counter top, they would never make it cleaning my fridge so I was already quite pleased with the Skoy Cloths. Skoy cloths are tough enough to do the hardwork, yet soft enough to wipe your face with. I am very impressed with all the uses of Skoy Cloths, it's durability, and how cost effective it is.

Another great thing about the Skoy Clothis it's dishwasher, washer, and dryer safe so when you're ready to wash it you can just toss it in. Skoy Cloths dry quickly, unlike sponges, which helps prevent bacteria from breeding on it. A wonderful way to prevent bacteria growth on it is to microwave your Skoy Clothregularly. It will be hot afterwards so be careful when you handle it.

200 followers! Wow! Thanks everyone for sticking with me. I hope you have enjoyed your time so far with me. :) I have some great giveaways coming up this week that I know you will enjoy.

Today I went to a weightwatchers meeting for the first time in like a month! I lost 1.6 lbs so I'm now at 124.2...only 4.2 pounds away from my goal! I can really see a loss in my stomach just in the last week alone. Eating right and working out has really paid off. I just have to keep up the great work.

I finished painting our family room moulding today. I must be the messiest painter ever. I always make a huge mess while painting. I still haven't picked colors for the dining room or bedrooms, yet. All I know is that the bright yellow in our master bedroom has to go!

The flowers in the bed on the right side of the house are growing like weeds. They are beautiful. The flowers on the left side are still dying, though. Tomorrow I'll probably spend the day doing yard work. Today was kind of a lazy day.

You will save so much money and it's wonderful not to have all those chemicals on them.

The Paper Bag Owl Company will also lanolize upon request at no additional cost! I had Emma's soaker lightly lanolized and it smells amazing. Lanolizing is a process to restore the wool's natural waterproof qualities. Wool covers can be quite expensive, but at the Paper Bag Owl Company they are extremely reasonably priced and of great quality.

Until a few months ago I was unaware of the wonders of wool. For anyone who knows me, you know how in love I am with cloth diapers...it's almost dare I say, an obssesion. When I first came across wool soaker I must say I was very intrigued. I researched more about it, read some reviews, and realized it was something I must try.I was clueless about wool and I realize some of my readers may not know a lot about it so I do want to share some information on it and of course I'll finish it off with a giveaway since I know after learning more you will fall in love like I did. This giveaway will be great for those who cloth diaper and those who don't. The Paper Bag Owl Company has offered the winner three prizes to choose from.

There are a few types of wool covers. My favorite are the wool soakers, which work as a diaper cover. You can use them with prefolds or with fitted diapers, which are my preference. The soakers work great underneath clothing. Wool is very absorbent and contains wetness and keeps clothes from getting wet!

Longies work the same way that wool soakers do except they are a lot longer, hence the name. They are pretty much pants (made of wool) and they work in the place of diaper covers. Longies are really cute.

There are also shorties which are a bit shorter than the longies, boarshorts, and capris! I have even seen adorable wool skirties. These are great for warmer weather. There are so many options! Did you know that Wool is a natural insulator and helps to keep you warm in winter and is naturally breathable to keep you cool as the weather gets hot!

An amazing thing about wool is that it only has to be washed every couple of weeks if it is unsoiled. If it gets wet the baby pee turns into a salt walter form in the wool and it just has to be put out to dry!

If you are a CD mama who has been strugggling to find a nighttime solution that works for you then a wool cover from The Paper Bag Owl is the answer. Baby Emma, who usually has issues keeping her sheets dry, did wonderful overnight wearing a fitted diaper and a wool cover on top. We tested the wool soaker for 10 hours at night and she woke up with dry sheets and the outside of the soaker was dry. Emma's mommy was very pleased!

Diaper rash is a huge concern for many parents and to some it may seem that it is a problem that cannot be avoided. It causes parents much frustration and a little baby much irritation. Diaper rash is often caused by extra moisture left after a diaper change. Simply drying baby after wiping will greatly help to reduce diaper rash by getting rid of that extra moisture. I have one word that will help prevent diaper rash B-U-M-M-A-S.

Bummas are small cloths that are 100% cotton terry velour wipes. Bummas are very eco-friendly. These wipes are soft to the touch and great to use on sensitive skin. We are newlyweds and money is tight around our house. We look for anyway possible to cut corners and save a few pennies. Needless to say, I pack dh's lunch everyday. It's just too expensive to have him buy lunch all of the time...and they don't exactly have the healthiest foods! I decided to look for a more eco-friendly lunch box and a way to pack lunches quicker...I am only half awake when I am getting dh's lunch ready.

I found Easy Lunch Boxes and immediately after seeing their lunchbox system I knew I had found exactly what we were looking for. Reusable, affordable, cute, easy, and eco friendly- everything our life needs. Easy Lunch Boxes carries cooler bags and plastic food container sets that will make lunch packing simple.

Easy Lunch Boxes was developed by a frustrated mom who was tired of having to throw lunches together. She wanted something easier, eco-friendly, but didn't want to have to pay an arm and a leg for convience.




I was thrilled to be able to review a lunchbox system and couldn't wait to put it to the test. The coolers come in 5 stylish colors; black, dark red, aqua, olive, and purple. Dh, of course, chose the dark red (roll tide roll). The food containers come in sets of four and have the perfect size compartments for anyone's lunch needs. The large section fits sandwiches and main entrees perfectly. I was surprised to see that I could even fit two sandwiches in that compartment. The smaller sections are great for fruits, veggies, and snacks!

Here are some important details. The lunchboxes are FDA approved, food safe, nontoxic, and BPA free. They are refridgerator, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. I love that I can fit other things in the cooler bag besides the food container. There is plenty of room for whatever you need.



Now I know what you're thinking, something this wonderful and easy to use has to be quite expensive. Think again, it is completely affordable and priced so even a struggling newlywed couple, like ourselves, can afford it! A four container set is $13.95 and the cooler is just $7.95. Not bad at all for something reusable. I spent a lot more than that on sandwich bags that I only used one time. I am so glad those days are over.

I have been so busy lately with writing up giveaways and reviews that I haven't had much time to blog about life. I am still job hunting, but lately I have been questioning what career I really want for the rest of my life. I went to school for criminal justice & psychology. When I got out of college I went to the police academy that didn't end up being the right career choice for me. So I looked into being a social which was my original job choice. In order to get a social worker's license you have to have a bachelors or mastors in social work....which I don't. I figured I could be a social caseworker. For Alabama jobs they rank you...for the caseworker it's by education and experience only the top 10 are chosen for the jobs. I didn't make top 10. NEXT!

I took a test for a position in the social work department for a financial support position. I did extremely well and ranked 7 or 8 in EVERY county in AL. So I am eligible to be hired for that position. I am just waiting on a call...

So what do I do while I wait? I have applied for a ton of secretary, assistant, full time nanny, daycare jobs, etc. etc. I am looking to start waitressing since I haven't found anything or do something in customer service. I really want a job that can become a career, but it would be nice to have extra cash so I'll take what job I can get.

I have been thinking lately that I'd love to open up a store. I'd LOVE to have an online and maybe instore shop to sell Green baby items, cloth diapers, glass bottles, organic products, baby leggies, baby clothes, stuff from small etsy shops... It's just an idea right now, but something I am looking further into and starting to do a LOT of research on. It probably sounds like a crazy idea, but maybe it will turn into something. We shall see. This isn't something I will jump into it's going to be awhile before this would go into full effect if I decide this is something that could work...but who knows it just may work. Dh is supporting it completely...

Maria's Favorites is a wonderful etsy shop started by a mother who wanted to create unique baby necessities for her children. Maria later decided to share her love with crafting and share her wonderful items on etsy! The items in the Maria's Favorites shop are absolutely darling. The shop offers many things including bibs, burpcloths, wallets, blankets, and my personal favorite- Diaper to Go Bags.



A quick trip to run errands when you have small children can be quite the task. There are so many extras that are often needed while you're out. I learned fast that you can't go anywhere without a couple of diapers and baby wipes. They are absolutely a necessity. You may think you're making a quick run to the grocery store so there won't be need for a diaper change, but the second you get down the street is when your precious baby decides to make a few "presents" for you.

Having to lug around an entire diaper bag filled of things that you won't need can be quite the pain. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have just a small, cute bag to carry a couple of diapers and a case of wipes?

Maria's Favorites carries these fantastic Diaper to Go bags. If you have never heard of a Diaper to Go Bag you are really missing out a great tool and I am SO glad I can share them with you. Diaper to Go Bags are cute, stylish bags that are the perfect size for a holding a few diapers, diaper cream, and baby wipes. These are wonderful for that quick run to the store. They are small enough to hold just enough while not being bulk or causing a hassel. No need to fret, Cloth Mamas, the Diaper to Go bags will also fit cloth diapers! I was able to fit two one size diapers and a wipe case in the bag with no trouble!



Toss it in your purse and you are ready to go! A Diaper to Go bag is also nice to use in your diaper bag to prevent diapers from wrinkling. I definitely plan to keep a bag in the car so that on one of the many days I am rushing out of the house I have one less thing to worry about. They are also great for tossing in your stroller when going for a walk or to the mall. A Diaper to Go Bag would be a wonderful baby shower gift and a must for every new, busy mom!



Maria's Favorites has a lot of beautiful fabric choices for the Diaper to Go Bags so you are sure to find something you love. There is something to match each parent's fashion taste. I chose to review the Groovy Guitars Diapers to Go Bag. I fell in love with the fabric. The bright colors are amazing and it is so stylish! Even dh really likes the fabric.

I love that each bag has a handle. The bags are machine washable and you simple have to lay it flat for it to dry. These bags are truly hassle free.

Maria was such a pleasure to work with. She is such a sweet woman and you can tell she is really passionate about her work. Every item in her shop is a piece of artwork that Maria puts a lot of love and hard work into. I received my Diaper to Go bag extremely fast and it was well packaged.

I love the personalized pacifier clips in the ElliGrace shop. What a great way to prevent losing pacifiers! Not only is it functional it's absolutely adorable! I love that you can have it personalized with your child's name.



I received the beautiful padded wipe case and a burp cloth to review that are shown above. They are truly gorgeous items and very well made. I love all of the fabric choices that the ElliGrace shop has to offer. My items were made with a blue and brown paisley fabric that is gorgeous. The wipe case has a beautiful white trim that finishes off the case perfectly. The burp cloth is machine washable which for me is a must. It also has a realy pretty zig zaq stich that I really like. I was quite pleased when I saw that the wipe case even included huggies wipes! The case is also great for holding cloth wipes.

My items came perfectly packaged and I received them very quickly. I was very pleased that my items were neatly packaged inside with tissue paper. If you were buying a baby gift from ElliGrace you wouldn't really have to worry about wrapping it! If you know how poorly I am at giftwrappng you would realize what a huge plus this is.

I need something more. My workout routine has gotten stale. I have started doing Insanity, but I need something else too. I need something exciting that will give me great results. Has anyone tried kettlebells? I just watched a workout video on them and they have really perked my interest. I'm really not into running, but I know I need to start again.

What I've done before and do now- 30 day shred, biggest loser yoga weight loss, turbo jam, biggest loser cardio sculpt ( i think that's what it's called), taebo videos...there's more that's just all I can't think of now.

We used to have an excercise tv channel which I LOVED. It was nice to be able to do different workouts everyday. They don't offer that channel where we live now, though. I'm going to check out some of the free videos they offer online on their website.

Any ideas of new things to try?

There will be some changes on my blog...lots of construction going on haha. I am trying to make it easier to navigate through and more organized. If you click the Current Giveaways tab it will allow you to have links to all the current giveaways on my blog. I am also going to add a new tab to display all the winners in. My blog has really grown. I am so happy to have so many people interested in my blog. I never imagined it would have had so much success so quick. I am becoming more comfortable with my blogging and writing reviews and giveaways. I am still getting my feet wet and trying to find my place and writing style, but I am really enjoying it. I have a confession to make. I have never owned a set of real coasters. Dh and I have been using cheap, mouse pad type material coasters for the longest time and when we don't use those we use....paper. It's quite embarrassing when guests come over and you hand them a piece of paper to put their drink on. Whew.
